Select Board reviews FY2027 departmental budgets amid possible override discussion.

TOPSFIELD — The Select Board reviewed fiscal year 2027 department-level budgets in a work session, with Town Administrator Kevin Harutunian presenting requests for the Town Administrator's office, Inspectional Services, and Recreation. Select Board Chair Rafael McDonald, Vice-Chair and Clerk Michelle Mercier-Link, and Member Robert Kmetz were present; Members Boyd Jackson and Marshall Hook were absent. Notable increases included computer and IT expenses for website hosting and financial software, a 4 percent rise in waste management costs, and higher-than-expected recycling tonnage rates.

The Board discussed the possibility of a Proposition 2.5 override as part of future budget planning.
