Topsfield Select Board unanimously approves $375,000 FY2027 override. Chair Rafael McDonald moved approval of the override, citing health insurance, pensions, and a $145,000 snow and ice budget overrun as primary drivers. The board also voted 5-0 to approve the FY2027 budget as amended, addressing wage alignment and insurance increases for retired and active employees.
The combined override and anticipated Proposition 2 ½ increases will raise an average household tax bill by $375 to $450 minimum. A separate $1,750,000 Masconomet Regional High School debt exclusion will appear as its own ballot question at the 2026 Annual Town Meeting.
