Select Board's Office · Meeting of February 2, 2026
TOPSFIELD — Select Board approves $34,477 ADA self-evaluation contract, unanimously backs spending increase for third firefighter shift. Chair Rafael McDonald and members Boyd Jackson, Marshall Hook, and Robert Kmetz reviewed FY2027 budget requests across departments, including salary increases flagged by Town Accountant Amanda Hagan and three-election costs highlighted by Town Clerk Beth Willis. The board supported the firefighter addition--estimated at $60,000 annually--and deferred final decision on planning department staffing options (ranging from full-time planner to half-time planner with administrative support) until Vice-Chair Michelle Mercier-Link attends a future meeting.
An unemployment reserve funding question was tabled pending data validation.
