TOPSFIELD — Finance Committee votes Masconomet FY27 assessment to warrant. The committee, reviewing the Masconomet School Committee's March 11 approval, recommended the district's $44,951,409 operating and capital budget for the warrant, apportioning $36,907,691 total to the three member towns. Topsfield's portion is $11,251,147, a 1.6 percent increase from FY26.
The committee also voted 6-1 to recommend a Home Rule Petition (Article 44) seeking legislative authority to ban second-generation anticoagulant rodenticide use on private property, with committee member Lisa Nihan-Demeule noting that 21 other towns have made similar requests to pressure the Massachusetts Legislature to act.
