Finance Committee approves prior minutes, updates FY27 budget meetings

TOPSFIELD — The Topsfield Finance Committee approved prior meeting minutes and coordinated FY27 budget department meetings with the Select Board schedule across four January and February sessions. Michael Koniares reported the initial town operating budget exceeds guidelines by $292,000. The Topsfield-Masco School Committee has narrowed its above-guideline request from $152,000 to $52,000 and expects to cover remaining needs without an override; the FY27 warrant will mark the second year of $50,000 allocations to each the Special Education Reserve and Stabilization funds.
Masco has received invitation to the Massachusetts School Building Authority Accelerated Repair program and anticipates capital requests for an Owner's Project Manager and separate HVAC, roof, building envelope, and athletic fields work.
